The Greater Memphis Chamber is seeking a Web Developer to develop and maintain the Greater Memphis Chamber websites, web related activities, and web design for electronic communications with members and partners of the Chamber as well as to develop and execute online marketing and outreach strategies to build the Chamber’s brand visibility via the website and social marketing venues. The Web Developer reports to the Director of Communications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the Chamber’s website and related websites; consult with internal program managers to help them communicate their information effectively on the Web and through social media outlets.
- Monitor Chamber brand activity on social networking sites.
- In working closely with Communications Director and Manager of Creative Projects, design and execute online marketing and outreach strategies to build the Chamber’s brand visibility.
- Test Web content for accuracy and to ensure it displays correctly in popular browsers.
- Work closely with Graphic Designer in creation of printed/electronic materials.
- Coordinate/schedule advertisers/sponsors with online advertisements.
- Insure that all Internet Standards are met and that the Chamber does not intentionally violate any standards that would place the Chamber’s domain(s) in jeopardy.
- Keep current with emerging web technology.
- Represent the Chamber and its Communications Team at public functions as necessary.
- Provide monthly website and social media reports to management.
- Assist with production of Chamber’s Memphis Crossroads quarterly periodical.
- Assist strategic managers with PowerPoint presentations (may be required to go to event, set-up equipment, operate equipment).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Service or Computer Science from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education/experience in the computer science field with minimum three (3) years experience.
- Thorough knowledge of layout principles, aesthetic design concepts and Web standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CSS, PHP, SQL, HTML, XML, RSS Feeds, Flash, Photoshop, web design, web programming and content management systems.
- Knowledge of social media marketing best practices.
- Ability to multi-task, establish priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented, logical and methodological approach to problem solving.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce readable, concise, accurate and creative written content.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work well independently and to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
- Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 2007 applications.
