Two Clothing Stores to Open Downtown:

Two new apparel stores are coming Downtown; Life is Good and Dress Style Studio. The Center City Development Corp., financing will consider two retail forgivable loan applications for them. The retailers that have applied are Life is Good, which plans to sign a 10-year lease for 1,900 square feet at 100 Peabody Place, and Dress Style Studio, which plans to sign a seven-year lease for 1,800 square feet at 119 S. Main St.  The CCDC staff has recommended loans of $40,000 for each business.  The Downtown Memphis Commission started the forgivable loan program to attract small, independent businesses to Main Street following the recession.
