Southwest Confirms Memphis Plans:

Southwest Airlines is coming to Memphis International Airport.  The Dallas-based airline confirmed that it intends to convert AirTran Airways operations in Memphis to Southwest operations “over time.” Memphis is one of 22 cities targeted in the Southwest announcement. Southwest acquired AirTran in May. Memphis is one of 69 cities where AirTran already provided service at the time of the acquisition.
