City of Memphis Crime Update: January - November 2011

From January 1 - November 30, 2011, major violent crime, which includes murder, forcible rape, aggravated assault, and robbery, has decreased 26.1 percent when compared to the same time period in 2006, the year Operation: Safe Community began.

Major property crime has also declined over the past five years, down 31.2 percent across the City of Memphis when compared to the first 11 months of 2006.

Shelby County Crime Update: January - November 2011

From January 1 - November 30, 2011, major violent crime was down 25.7 percent, including a drop in robbery by 44.9 percent and a drop in aggravated assault by 13.5 percent across all jurisdictions of Shelby County, when compared to the same time period in 2006, the year Operation: Safe Community began.
