Nucor Memphis Plant Part of 2-Year Expansion:

The Memphis Nucor Corp. steel plant will be part of a two-year, $290 million effort by the Charlotte-based company to expand its production of special bar quality and wire rod. The company is increasing its capacity to produce both at its plants in Memphis, Norfolk, Neb., and Darlington, S.C., citing its belief that the SBQ market will continue to grow in the coming years. The expansion plans also include upgraded quality inspections capabilities. Nucor’s goal is to complete each of the projects by the end of 2013.  To continue reading, click here, here, and also here.
