Memphis Mayor A C Wharton gives go-ahead to bike lanes on Madison:

A portion of Madison Avenue will be restriped to add bicycle lanes, ending an ongoing controversy that pitted cyclists against some business owners. When the project is done, each side of Madison will include a dedicated bike lane running along the 1.5-mile stretch between Cooper and McNeil. Repaving is expected to be complete by the end of October, with restriping taking a little longer. However, the four current automobile lanes will be reduced. To continue reading, click here and here.
