Field days in agriculture are usually a chance for farm and crop experts as well as agriculture novices to get into the fields and see crops being grown and harvested and talk about techniques and experimental crops. Delta BioRenewables has converted an under-utilized cotton gin on land owned by farmer Willie German into its “Advanced Rural BioRefinery.” The company processes a very small sweet sorghum crop planted in June for use by two customers in other parts of the country, said Maury Radin. He and Pete Nelson started Delta BioRenewables from a Memphis Bioworks Foundation incubator in the Memphis Medical District. This is their third year in Whiteville. To continue reading, click here.
