Cordova sports complex earns national award:

Former NBA Star and hometown hoops hero Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway is leading a drive to add basketball and other indoor sports to the Gameday Sports Park.  Gameday Baseball’s First Tennessee Fields has been honored as the U.S. Specialty Sports Association, “Sports Complex of the Year.”  Melvin Gipson, director of the Memphis Sports Council, an operating unit of the Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau accepted the award.  The Memphis Convention and Visitors Bureau was praised by USSSA CEO Don DeDonatis as “the role model” for all convention and visitors bureaus.  To continue reading, click here.
