Andre K. Fowlkes: Professors eschew textbooks for real life:
We all know how universities all across the country are trying to find ways to introduce entrepreneurship and innovation into the classroom. Two Memphis professors are demonstrating some real skill in turning students into entrepreneurs. One professor, Dr. Lurene Kelley, assistant professor in the University of Memphis journalism department, teaches a course on "entrepreneurial journalism" and media management. She has embraced the principles from LaunchMemphis, a local business accelerator, so she can teach through apprenticeship the entrepreneurial skills used for real startup companies.
