Introducing our 2016 International Business Intern: Bo Wang

This summer the Greater Memphis Chamber is fortunate to have two impressive interns working on major projects in our International Business and Communications departments. Today, we would like to introduce to you Bo Wang, from Xi'an city, Shaanxi province, China. Bo is currently a graduate student in the MBA program at Arkansas State University. He will be working with Ernest Strickland, Vice President of International and Business Partnerships, this summer. Bo tells us more about himself and the projects he will be working on below.

1. What led you to this position at the Greater Memphis Chamber?
I knew that the Greater Memphis Chamber is a great place for graduate students to deepen their understanding of business practices in the Memphis area. Also, the Memphis government and the Chamber are seeking new investments from China, and it is a good opportunity for me to gain access to international business in Memphis and work with a great team.

2. What are you most passionate about?
One of my greatest passions is helping others. I like to help people get out of bad situations and find solutions that meet their needs.

3. What major project will you be working on this summer?
I'll be working to implement the Chamber's China Investment Recruitment Plan (CIRP) and also support efforts to grow new investment from Chinese firms and investors seeking the U.S. market.

4. What is your favorite way to spend your time?
I usually watch some Chinese TV shows and action movies at home or hang out with friends.

5. What part of your internship are you most looking forward to?
I am looking forward to learning and gaining a deeper understanding of U.S. business practices and supporting Chinese investments to come into the Memphis area.

6. What's the best meal you've had in Memphis?
There's no way to choose a best meal in Memphis. I think every restaurant is a great place for me to have a taste.

Be on the lookout for more updates from Bo and our communications intern, Lockie, this summer.
