Small Business Week: April 30-May 6

April 30-May 6 marks the 54th National Small Business Week in the United States, originally established by President John F. Kennedy to recognize the contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.

More than half of all Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three jobs in the U.S. each year. At the Greater Memphis Chamber around 80% of our membership is made up of small businesses, and we want to do everything we can to increase customer base, decrease costs and grow your bottom line.

This year, our efforts to support small businesses are especially reflected through our goal to see 300 contracts for LOSB (Locally Owned Small Businesses) by the end of 2017, along with 300 new contracts for MWBE (Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises). Click here to read more about these efforts and register your company as a MWBE or LOSB!

The Chamber’s Small Business Council (SBC) serves as a leader in these efforts, working to encourage, support, recognize and be a resource to small- and mid-sized businesses in the Memphis area.

Chamber members with 100 employees or less automatically get access to all SBC programs and benefits, including resources and events focused on education and networking.
Have you taken advantage of these opportunities to learn and grow your business?

Lunch in the Know – Join other small business owners each month to learn from expert speakers on topics including marketing, business leadership, and more

Advice on Tap – Small and mid-size business owners have access to 30-minute free consultations with the region’s leading minds in diverse professional areas, including accounting, human resources, legal, marketing, and expansion strategy.
