Words From the New SBC Chair Judy Bell

With a new year comes new changes and faces for the Greater Memphis Chamber Small Business Council. Not only do we have a new steering committee, which you can view here, but we’re also happy to introduce Judy Bell, President of Judy Bell Consulting, as the new Chair of the Small Business Council. Here are a few words from our new Chair:

For small business owners, the Small Business Council makes good business sense. I come from the school of thought that good citizens vote AND join their Chamber.  The Small Business Council of the Greater Memphis Chamber provides small businesses (and anyone else who wants to attend the meetings) a forum in which to learn more about how to strengthen their operations.  And the best part is that if you’re a Chamber member with 100 employees or less, you’re automatically a Small Business Council member, and you have the opportunity to meet other business owners who are facing or have faced your present challenges.

Participating with this council allows us all to learn more about pressing issues and trends that are of importance in running a small business. Our meetings cover topics such as HR Legal trends and best practices, healthcare issues, recruiting and hiring, turnover issues, marketing strategies, and employee and board engagement … just to name a few. The SBC belongs to each member, and everyone has a voice. The meeting topics are chosen by the membership, and we truly listen. We provide leadership and learning in the areas where you tell us you want more knowledge and confidence.

The council consists of small business owners who operate in the same community with you.  Come grow with your peers.
