Math Anyone?

The Greater Memphis Chamber staff and Ambassadors were excited to join Cornelius Barnes, owner of Math Made Simple, for a ribbon cutting location located at 7189 Stage Road, Bartlett, Tenn. 38134.  Math Made Simple was gracious enough to answer a few of our questions so that the community can have a better understanding of Math Made Simple's mission and vision for the future.

What does Math Made Simple do?
We provide year-round academic support in the areas of Math, English, and Language Arts to students as young as seven years old.

What makes your business stand out?
Math Made Simple stands out because everyone wins with us.  The student receives the professional help in both Math and English that he needs.  The parent is finally able to afford tutoring and not need financial assistance from a lender.  The business provides more economic growth and development to the greater Memphis community.

Why did you join the Chamber?
I joined the chamber to gain the public trust.

What was your motivation for opening your own business?
I want others to experience the joy and ease of learning mathematics.  I want to put the fun back into learning.

What are some key things that allowed your business to grow?
We have a tutoring service that over 70% of Memphis population needs:  Math and English.  We created a system that allows us to give the customer 6 times the service at 1/4 the cost of traditional tutoring.

Who is your target market?
Our target market are those who are considered to be middle to upper class families that do not meet the criteria for free or reduce.

What's the best thing about owning your own business?
The best thing about owning my own business is that I make life changing decisions that bring about real change.
