Tom Rieger Joins Chamber Staff as Senior Vice President of Membership Development

Memphis, Tenn—The Greater Memphis Chamber announced that Tom Rieger has joined the Chamber staff as senior vice president of membership development. 

Rieger was instrumental in the creation of the Chamber’s Chairman’s Circle, a group of more than 100 CEOs, who collaborate with organizations in the Greater Memphis region to propel Memphis into a world-class city. In addition to this, he has provided strategic consulting services for the Chamber as the President of TNR & Associates which is based in Denver, Colorado.

“Tom has shown tremendous leadership in his work with us here at the Chamber and we are fortunate to have him on board fulltime,” said Phil Trenary, president and CEO of the Greater Memphis Chamber.  “His commitment to Memphis demonstrates his passion for helping our business grow as well as providing the best service and benefits for our members.”
As head of the membership department, Rieger will work to unite business leaders from small businesses to large corporations, improve member benefits and engage with the business community in more results-based ways. He will oversee major fundraising activities, conduct successful membership drive campaigns and implement revenue enhancement opportunities. Rieger will manage the Bravo Team, the Chamber’s membership department staff, developing new member and member retention programs as well as enhancing sponsorship opportunities and member benefits such as the Chamber’s Affinity program. In addition to engaging with our small business members, Rieger will work to broaden outreach with the Chamber’s Board of Advisor and Board of Governors members.
Rieger has worked with Chambers of Commerce and other non-profits, providing strategic planning, fundraising and business consulting for 15 years. He specializes in program development that drives revenue generation for economic and community development. He raised nearly $28 million in capital for the Metro Denver EDC’s budget over a 12 year period and has managed 12 different multi-million dollar fundraising capital campaigns in cities throughout the US.

Rieger is a member of the International Economic Development Council, a past board member of the Arapahoe House and an Eagle Scout of the Boy Scouts of America. Rieger received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in Denver, Colorado and a Masters of business administration from the University of Phoenix in Denver, Colorado. He is married and has a daughter.
