Andre Dean has been named Vice President of Community Development for the Greater Memphis Chamber, effective immediately. He has worked as Vice President of Public Policy and Community Relations for the Chamber for the last three years. Dean will primarily focus on the Chamber’s efforts in infrastructure, logistics and manufacturing as well as reinforce the Chamber’s relationships with the community.

“The Chamber is fortunate that Andre has extensive business experience in transportation and logistics as well as business development and now will be able to focus his attention on these important aspects of our economy” said Dexter Muller, Senior Vice President of Community Development.

The Chamber’s Community Development Department plays a leading role and works with many partners to enhance our region’s infrastructure, logistics and community assets. This department also coordinates the Manufacturing Council that plays a key role in supporting the manufacturing sector including our existing companies and newly recruited companies.

“Memphis is the economic hub of this region. In my new role, I will continue to promote development of our community’s infrastructure and investments that strengthen our position as a city of choice.  The Chamber does this by working with existing business and non-profits that share in our vision to create an authentic business community.  This will allow us to attract new investment and reinvestment of talent and resources,” said Dean.

For 175 years, the Greater Memphis Chamber has been the lead economic development organization for Memphis/Shelby County, and is a private, non-profit, membership-driven organization comprised of 2,300 business enterprises, civic organizations, educational institutions and individuals.
