The Greater Memphis Chamber Announces BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee as Title Sponsor for Young Professional Council

Memphis, Tenn.— BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has signed on as the official title sponsor of the Greater Memphis Chamber’s Young Professional Council, SoundCheck. The Council, which unveiled this summer, already boasts 100+ members on its four committees. 

“We couldn’t be more thankful that BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has decided to join us in our efforts to cultivate Memphis’ next generation of leaders,” said Christina Meek, Communications Director of the Greater Memphis Chamber and SoundCheck Program Director. “With their support, the Chamber will be able to provide the resources and programming needed to help further the careers of our young professionals.”

The mission of SoundCheck is to make Memphis great for the city’s next generation of business leaders. Through each of the following teams, members work to shape policies and develop strategies to grow the Memphis economy and secure their own financial future of the community:

  • Next Steps: Connecting young professionals to resources and tips for professional development.

  • Growing the Memphis Economy: Creating ideas and collaborating with others on efforts to grow the economy or increase the quality of life in Memphis.

  • #MEMUP: Promoting opportunities for young professionals in Memphis.

  • Chairman’s Outer Circle: Interacting with the Chamber’s Chairman’s Circle and providing support on their initiatives.

“Retaining the top young talent in the city helps cultivate the next generation of leaders,” said Calvin Anderson, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. “With so many changes in the healthcare system it is an opportunity to educate and engage young professionals in the policy and personal aspects of healthcare.”

Young professionals in the community can become involved at three different levels. The Basic level is free and allows members to receive all communications and invitations to SoundCheck events. The Leader level at $25 a year provides access to join one of the first three teams and discounts at SoundCheck events. The Chairman’s Outer Circle grants all of the above plus exclusive access to the Chairman’s Circle for $250 a year.
