The Greater Memphis Chamber Announces 2016 Move It Memphis Race

Memphis, Tenn.— For the past eight years, the Greater Memphis Chamber has hosted the Move it Memphis Race to promote a healthy Memphis and create an opportunity to bring people together to celebrate Memphis. This year, the event is a four mile race and will take place on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 and is presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee. The race begins at 6:30 PM at Loflin Yard, one of Downtown’s newest hot spots which has been described as “South Main’s back yard.” Runners will have the opportunity to race by the Mississippi River as the sun sets and cross the finish line back at Loflin where the after party will include a performance from Opera Memphis, who will be culminating their 30 Days of Opera at this event.

The event supports the Chamber’s efforts of attracting people to Memphis, providing a high quality of life and good job opportunities. We are bringing the community together to encourage a healthy Memphis workforce in one of the most vibrant areas of the city,” said Phil Trenary, President & CEO, Greater Memphis Chamber.
The race offers something for everyone, whether the participant is an avid runner or just a beginner and is a unique way to tour Downtown Memphis on foot. The Move it Memphis race is a chance to highlight some of Memphis’s greatest assets in one event. A sunset race on the river, the route offers a beautiful view that not everyone gets to see every day. People from all over the region will come together downtown to celebrate Memphis.
