Greater Memphis IT Council & Greater Memphis Chamber Announce Strategic Alliance

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE – April 19th, 2017: The Greater Memphis IT Council will hold its 2017 Annual Meeting to elect the 2017 Board of Directors and Executive Committee. The Annual Meeting will convene the membership for an update on progress over 2016 and future plans for the IT Council in its mission to establish a center of excellence in IT.

The keynote speaker for the meeting will be the Greater Memphis Chamber President & CEO Phil Trenary who will provide an update on the initiatives of the Chamber. Mr. Trenary will also announce a strategic alliance with the Greater Memphis IT Council to provide:

• Cooperation on the Chamber’s "GigCity" initiative to bring high-speed broadband to Memphis.

• Collaboration on programming with the Greater Memphis Chamber Council events.

• Support for workforce development in building the talent base for IT.

• Engagement for economic development efforts in attracting new business to Memphis through IT.

The Annual Meeting will bring together a C-level audience from the membership comprised of the technology sector and IT departments of strategic industries along with leadership from the university and community colleges. The meeting will be held in the University Club Ballroom from 3:30 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday April 19th.
