The December issue of Delta Air Lines’ award-winning Sky magazine features a 37-page section on Memphis showcasing the city’s business climate, healthcare industry – including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – higher education institutions and lifestyle and entertainment. Notable community members featured include Memphis Mayor A C Wharton, Jr.; Frederick W. Smith, Founder and CEO of FedEx; noted fashion designer and philanthropist Pat Kerr Tigrett; the Rev. Al Green and Justin Timberlake.

Delta offers Memphis customers nearly 200 peak-day departures to 66 nonstop destinations, including nonstop service to Amsterdam, by far more than any other airline. Delta began serving Memphis in 1934.

“We’re so pleased that Delta has afforded Memphis the opportunity to share our great city with its global customers,” said Mayor A C Wharton, Jr. “As they read about Memphis’ unique blend of musicians, philanthropists, and do-it-yourself innovators and entrepreneurs, we think they’ll realize that Memphis is one of the coolest cities in the world.”

Kevin Kane, President & CEO, Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau, adds, “We’re thrilled Delta is putting the spotlight on Memphis, and we welcome all travelers to get a taste of the city’s soul, the great influences of our heritage and the global impact our city has had on the world,” said. “This is an opportunity to share with Delta passengers how Memphis has grown as one of the most unique destinations in the world.“

“We are pleased that Delta Sky magazine is highlighting Memphis to a global audience,” said John W. Moore, President & CEO, Greater Memphis Chamber. “This is a valuable opportunity to reach millions of potential visitors and business men and women.”
