The FedEx St. Jude Classic Drives the Green

Everyone knows the importance of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, not just for Memphis but for the world. Not only do they provide sick children and their families a free place to go for treatment, but they also provide thousands of jobs to our community.

The FedEx St. Jude Classic, a fundraising source for St. Jude, also has an impressive economic impact in Memphis.

Did you know…

  • The FESJC annually impacts the Memphis economy by more than $35 million. Out-of-town visitors account for 40 percent of total attendance. In addition, the tournament promotes Memphis nationally as a true major-league city.
  • It has generated over $24 million for St. Jude since 1970
  • This is the 55th year of the annual event and one of the oldest continuously operated stops on the PGA tour. Past winners include Jack Nicklaus, Hal Sutton, Fred Couples, Tom Kite, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Greg Norman, Nick Price, David Toms and Justin Leonard.

The tournament is a boon for Memphis, a fundraiser for an amazing cause and just an all-around great time for golf fans and the family! Click here to learn more about how spectator sports impact the Memphis area.

The FedEx St. Jude Classic tour is coming up June 4-10th.

The event kicks off with the Sunday @ Southwind Family Festival, which offers free admission to Youth Clinic, live music, and a Kids Zone on Sunday, June 3. Then, get in on the tournament action with the "Thwack Pack": tickets, hotdogs, and drinks for four for only $74. Visit for more details.
