Wei Around The World

Wei Chen’s motto in life is to inspire others to not be good but great. He’s putting that motto into action starting May 22nd when he begins a journey to raise $250,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by flying alongside co-pilot Rob Williams around the world in a single engine plane.

Chen is the CEO of Sunshine Enterprises, a construction material company. He grew the company from one employee up to 400 with offices in China and four U.S. branches. He serves on numerous boards such as the Advisory Board for Fogelman College of Business and Economics, Metropolitan Bank and theMemphis In May organizing committee. The Leadership Academy and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital are just two examples of non-profit boards Chen serves on as well.
In addition to these accomplishments, Chen will also act as an Ambassador of Memphis, making press stops all over the world to promote Memphis to a global audience.

The journey will take place over 10 weeks, in 21 countries and 39 cities including Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Milan, Jerusalem, Luxor, Dubai, Beijing, Changhsa, Harbin, Ketchikan, Vancouver, San Franciso, Dallas and back to Memphis on July 28th.

To kick-off the adventure, the Greater Memphis Chamber and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are hosting a Wei Around the World send-off gala which benefits St. Jude. Visit for details and ticket information.
