MEMPHIS CROSSROADS: Jennifer Ziegenhorn of Husch Blackwell

In each Memphis Crossroads Magazine, we highlight a Board of Advisor level member, showcasing their important role in the Chamber as well as the business community. Jennifer Ziegenhorn, Partner at Husch Blackwell, shares with us why her company is a part of the Chamber as well as some benefits of doing business in Memphis.

Why did you decide to join the Chamber?

Our attorneys were looking for a way to be more connected to our community.  We wanted to work in tandem with other companies to better Memphis’ economic outlook, create opportunities for businesses and support our community.  Joining the Chamber has presented a lot of opportunity for our firm to be more informed about and involved in the growth of Memphis’ economic base.  The Chamber does a great job of keeping its members informed of positive trends and events.  Its innovative programs to build connections between its members was extremely attractive to our firm.  The membership has delivered exactly what we had hoped.

What are the benefits of doing business in Memphis?

Memphis has a supportive business community that encourages innovation.  Businesses thrive here because they seize on the benefits of Memphis while retaining a global, connected outlook.  Memphians are known for being top of their game while maintaining a collegial, balanced approach to business.

The city’s vibrant industries like manufacturing, transportation, healthcare and financial services fit well with our firm’s industry approach.   Memphis companies are willing to both import and export expertise, ideas, and economic opportunities.  For our business, that means we can help Memphis clients in their endeavors in other locations, and also assist clients from other locations to provide benefits to the Memphis community. Our centralized location makes us perfectly situated to be able to work with companies throughout the country with relative ease.  Being in Memphis lets our attorneys act as the middle man who can assist our east coast clients with their west coast issues with a southern flair; or gateway for our Memphis clients expanding throughout the mid-west.
