Travel Faster with the TSA Pre-Check Program

The frequent business traveler knows the rhythm of airport security well: a wait in line, the removal of outer garments, the unpacking of liquids and laptops. The whole process requires you to arrive early and prepared - which isn’t always possible on a business schedule. That’s why the Greater Memphis Chamber wants you to know about the TSA Pre✓™ program now available at the Memphis International Airport (MEM).

Passengers seeking faster and more efficient security screening can enroll in the TSA Pre✓™ program on site at the airport by visiting the TSA Pre✓™ application center. TSA Pre✓™ is an expedited screening program that allows travelers to leave on their shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep their laptop in its case and keep 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels in a carry-on bag. TSA is currently in the process of expanding to more than 300 application centers across the country.

U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents are now able to go through a pre-enrollment process online at www.TSA.gov/tsa-precheck, make an appointment and visit an application center to provide biographic information (e.g. name, date of birth, address, etc.), fingerprints, valid required identity and citizenship/immigration documentation and an application fee of $85 for a five-year membership.  The application center enrollment office is located between the B and C terminals on the ticketing level.  The office hours are Monday through Friday from 9am through 5pm. Holidays are excluded. Walk-in customers are also welcome.

Once approved, travelers will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) and will have the opportunity to utilize TSA Pre✓™ lanes at security checkpoints at 118 participating airports and on nine major U.S. airlines including: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways and Virgin America.

Passengers with questions can contact the Universal Enrollment Call Center at 1-855-347-8371, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. - 9 p.m. CST.
