We Sustain Shelby Campaign Kicks Off February 1st

What does it take to create and maintain a sustainable community? What does it really mean to 'go green'? Is it a matter of using eco-friendly light bulbs? Decreasing energy usage? Recycling? Biking to work instead of driving? The correct answer is all of the above and more.

Fostering or enhancing sustainability involves doing several different things consistently. These things don't have to be done all at once or in tandem. Just by making small changes to your daily routine, you can make a big impact on our environment andhelp improve the quality of life we all enjoy.

However, not one person carries this responsibility alone. Through teamwork and collaboration, together 'We Sustain Shelby!'

Starting on February 1st, the Memphis-Shelby County Office of Sustainability is launching a new campaign to help local individuals and groups cut energy and water use, reduce waste and be better stewards of the environment.

Over 6 months, the Office of Sustainability will issue fun contests designed to help you go green and save money. Join the #WeSustainShelby campaign and commit to doing your part to help renew and improve our community.

You can compete solo, as a family or with a company team to earn points for each recommended action completed. Prizes will be issued weekly with a grand prize awarded on July 1st. Sign up now to join the campaign at www.WeSustainShelby.com
