JOC Inland Distribution Conference Comes to Memphis

The JOC Inland Distribution Conference is the must-attend conference for retailers, manufacturers and other companies that utilize trucking, intermodal and seaports and need strategies to manage tight trucking capacity and rising prices associated with today's challenging transportation landscape. The conference typically attracts 400 logistics professionals.

Led by the JOC's team of editorial experts, this year's program is shaping up to be the most dynamic and actionable in the event's five-year history. Its mission is to provide major customers of inland transportation services - including retailers, manufacturers, consumer product firms and agribusiness companies - with an overall understanding of the major challenges and potential solutions their trucking, intermodal rail and logistics vendors face when moving freight within North America.

The program already includes an impressive roster of highlights:
  • Frederick W. Smith, CEO and founder of FedEx, will deliver the opening keynote address.
  • Bradley Jacobs, chairman and CEO of XPO Logistics, will deliver the Day 2 keynote address.
  • Moderated sessions and broadcasts by Mark Willis, host and anchor of Road Dog Trucking News on SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
  • Shipper-led case studies analyzing specific solutions to supply chain challenges.
  • The latest rail and trucking market outlook from the industry’s most renowned economists and expert analysts.
  • A Ted-Style Talk from Christian Allred, senior vice president of international at global cargo-tracking company Orbcomm, who will address how the internet of things will reshape supply chains.
  • A one-on-one dialogue on shipper-carrier relationships featuring Derek J. Leathers, president and CEO of Werner Enterprises, and Susan Pellechio, vice president of transportation for Staples.
  • More networking opportunities, including a tour of Norfolk Southern Railway’s Rossville intermodal terminal in nearby Collierville.
