It’s a pretty exciting time to be a Memphian - wouldn’t you agree? May is quickly approaching and with it an influx of visitors expecting to be well-fed and well-entertained by the Beale Street Music Festival, the World Champion Barbecue Cooking Contest and the NBA Playoffs. Rumor has it, we might even have some royalty show up...

These out-of-towners know all the typical Memphis attractions. They expect a tour of Graceland, outstanding BBQ and a night out on Beale Street, but what about the other million reasons we love this city?

So who better to show them around then the thousands of Memphians who live here, work here and play here? You can be a virtual tour guide by sharing your favorite places to eat, visit and shop by just using the hashtag: #WelcomeToMemphis.

Want a sneak peak of the things I’ll be sharing?

1. Shelby Farms Park - in my opinion, it’s one of our city’s best kept secrets. It’s my go-to place to run, picnic and disc golf, and it offers so much more.

2. Cafe Eclectic - my perfect place to meet up for coffee or have Sunday brunch. There’s so many delicious options to choose from and the servers always make me feel at home.

3. The Orpheum - how much are season tickets again? Every time I go is a new experience and I’m blown away by the talented performances our city brings.

4. Second Line - if you come to Memphis just for its BBQ, you miss out on some of the finest food in the country. Chef Kelly English is a prime example.

5. Broad Avenue - each Memphis neighborhood has its own unique personality, but I love the charm this budding community brings to the table.

Your turn! Tell me and all our visitors your Memphis favorites by posting to your go-to social media account. Just remember to use the hashtag: #WelcomeToMemphis. Who knows, maybe we’ll all discover something new.
