The Memphis Grizzlies will open the 2011 NBA Playoffs in San Antonio on Sunday, April 17 with a Noon tip against the Spurs, the league announced today. The game will be televised nationally on TNT and locally on SportSouth HD and can also be heard on SoulClassics 103.5 FM.

The eighth-seeded Grizzlies (46-36) earned their fourth postseason berth in franchise history and will meet the top-seeded Spurs (61-21) in a best-of-seven series in the First Round of the Western Conference Playoffs. The two clubs also met in the 2004 NBA Playoffs, Memphis’ first-ever trip to the postseason, with the Spurs sweeping the Grizzlies, 4-0.

Memphis will host its first Playoff game in nearly five years on Saturday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. at FedExForum. Grizzlies fans can purchase tickets for Playoff Home Games 1 and 2 at all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling 800-745-3000 or 901-888-HOOP, by visiting the FedExForum Box Office or online at grizzlies.com or ticketmaster.com.
