On February 20, the business leadership of the Greater Memphis Chamber launched the very first Job Fuel Conference. Determined that Memphis will win and be one of the first cities in the nation to capture global success by focusing on creating good jobs, this "Conference on Jobs Creation" was presented in partnership with the leadership of Duncan-Williams, Inc. One of the featured speakers was Chief Economist and Vice President at FedEx, Gene Huang. In this follow-up blog to his on-stage discussion, Huang elaborates on not only the specific challenges he sees for job creation in metro areas accross the country, but what he believes Memphis can do to overcome these challenges using strengths the city already possesses.
