The Technical Scholar Intern Program is open to students pursuing an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree or Technical Certificate in one of Southwest's Business, Career Studies and Technologies programs. Through this program, students gain real-world paid work experience with area employers, while earning academic credit through Southwest. Qualified applicants will be interviewed by participating employers and hired for positions (typically part-time, temporary) according to business needs. Once chosen, students will commit to working for the employer for a minimum of one semester. Employment may be extended to students beyond one semester based on the employer's need and the student's on-the-job performance. In this one-day course you will learn out to grow your revenue by utilizing major social media outlets for marketing, sales, customer service, and more. For each major form of social media you will learn: setting up a business account page, basics of useage, Do’s and Don’ts, good business practices (and not so good business practices), statistics and demographics. We will take a look at successful marketing campaigns as well as failed attempts and discuss what sets them apart.
