Crawford, Smith & Sharp Acquired by Sharp & Robbins
Memphis, TN – Dale Sharp and Dave Robbins have acquired Crawford, Smith & Sharp, LLC, which will now operate as Sharp & Robbins Construction, LLC. The firm specializes in multifamily and commercial construction.
Sharp & Robbins also has plans to expand its presence in Memphis, Nashville and Little Rock throughout 2010, a move that could mean the creation of several new jobs in these areas. “As we gain market share, we’ll need new personnel at every level from project management to field supervision, as well as hourly construction workers,” says Dale Sharp. The company has also launched a new website under the Sharp & Robbins name, at www.sharprobbins.com.
Sharp, a graduate of the University of Memphis in 1987 with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology, joined Crawford, Smith & Sharp in 1994. His decision to buy out his existing partners and bring in Dave Robbins was purely strategic. “Both my former partners were active in our medical manufacturing business, and hadn’t had daily involvement in the construction business for several years. I sold them my shares in the other business, and bought theirs in this one,” he says.
Sharp is enthusiastic about his partner’s new role in the firm. “Dave Robbins brings a lifetime of experience in this industry. Many of the business relationships he has today began with the work his grandfather did in this market.” Robbins holds the prestigious designation of Certified Restorer (CR) from the National Institute of Disaster Restoration. Sharp & Robbins is headquartered in Memphis, with a second office in Nashville. The firm is licensed in five states, including Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana, and registered in Kentucky and Texas. Amanda Waddell’s practice is concentrated in the areas of medical malpractice, auto liability, and insurance coverage. Prior to joining the Firm, she practiced in Hattiesburg, Mississippi for eight years in mass tort medical device/pharmaceutical defense and medical malpractice before moving to Memphis and joining RKRB. Ms. Waddell has extensive experience in state, federal, and multi-district litigation courts, and appellate experience which includes multiple published decisions from the Mississippi Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. Ms. Waddell received her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Mississippi in 1999. Ms. Waddell is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi.
Geoffrey Lindley concentrates his practice in the areas of employment law litigation (representing employers only), workers' compensation, and personal injury litigation. His employment practice includes advising employers on issues concerning Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other laws applicable to employers. Mr. Lindley has been associated with the Firm since receiving his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2001. Law & Politics Mid-South Super Lawyers magazine recently named Mr. Lindley a “Rising Star” in the area of Employment Litigation Defense. Mr. Lindley is licensed to practice in Tennessee.
Craig Sanders concentrates his civil defense practice in the representation of professionals and the healthcare industry across the State of Tennessee. Prior to joining RKRB in 2003, Mr. Sanders practiced law in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has handled medical malpractice cases in Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Jackson, and various other cities throughout the State of Tennessee. He maintains a broad spectrum civil practice primarily dedicated to the areas of medical malpractice defense and professional liability defense. His clients include physicians, hospitals, medical clinics, dentists, nurses, and other medical providers. Mr. Sanders received his Doctor of Jurisprudence, with high honors, from the University of Tennessee College of Law.
